From Flowers To Dead Chickens!

Life's always interesting on the farm.  One day it's picking up machinery parts and bouquets of flowers, and the next day it's processing chickens.

I've just come in from helping my brother weigh and label his first crop of pre-sold chickens,  preparing them for his customers to pick up over the next few days.  A nice looking bunch of birds!  Makes a gal want to fire up the stove and set one to roasting.  Ahhh... never mind.  I think I'll just throw a couple of frozen pizzas in the oven for when Dad and Caleb get in from milking.  It's been a long day, with all of us up extra early, and it promises to be a late night - for the fellas anyway - 'cause this chicken business interferes a bit with the dairy business and they're still out milking!

Nicely Organized, Ready To Be Frozen

  1. Looks like a fun, but busy day! At least you had some friends there to make the work more enjoyable!

  2. It was a very busy day indeed! Something else came up today as well, which preoccupied Caleb for some time, so I ended up organizing most of the chickens with Noah and Seth. :o)

  3. Yes, and it turned out to be a MUCH later night than expected! Funny how that happens sometimes. ;-)
